Treating Thrush with Honey

This is one of my favourite hoof care tips:

My horse tends to suffer with thrush in his feet during the winter. My farrier recommended an alternative remedy for horses which really works! I squeeze honey onto his frogs and rub in gently and this works wonders. Even better is that Justin doesn't mind having this done at all, which is great as he goes beserk if I apply any commercial thrush preparations or traditional treatments like peroxide.

Apparently honey has anti-bacterial properties which help to kill off the thrush.
